Rio Bar

An urban oasis on the Prague riverbank, where the deck bar brings a laid-back, inviting vibe to the city center. The deck stretches out toward the river, shaded by mature trees that offer cool relief on warm days. A gentle touch of Brazil adds character and charm to this unique riverside retreat.

In the Shadow of the Plane Tree

The rustling of tree leaves above, the gentle sway of water beneath your feet, and a relaxed, holiday atmosphere all around. The deck bar is divided into two zones: an open-air garden under the shade of sprawling plane trees and a pergola during summer, and a flexible covered area that can open or close depending on the weather.

Even in the rain, the bar remains inviting — with solar panels on the roof powering its operation. The leisurely mood is enhanced by a shallow wading pool and light curtains that dance in the breeze.

The Play of Verticals

The furniture on the deck, as well as the bar’s amenities, feature regular vertical divisions. Like quiet markers in the landscape, these vertical elements offer a steady rhythm and visual contrast to the horizontal flow of the river passing by.

Spotted Light

The plane trees offer not only cooling shade, but also a fleeting, ever-changing impression as sunlight filters through their leaves. Light spots dance across tables, chairs, and the faces of visitors, animating the space with quiet poetry. As evening falls, the atmosphere is gently transformed by delicate lighting.

Plovárna

A technologically well-thought-out concept for an urban swimming pool that serves as a pool in the summer and an ice rink in the winter. We had to address both temperature changes and the proper separation of the chlorinated water tank from the natural river flow.

Citizen's Swimming Pool

The city’s primary requirement was cost-efficiency: within this low-budget project, we proposed a structure built from repurposed wood and equipped with simple folding furniture.

Access to the pool was planned via stairs positioned beneath the Rudolfinum. However, the COVID-19 pandemic ultimately prevented the project’s realization.

Cooling Shade

The swimming pool offers both open areas for sunbathing and shaded zones beneath a pergola. The wooden structure and classic sun loungers recall the tradition of urban baths — a typology once common, but now absent from contemporary Prague.
